This application is provided for the families, students, and teachers of St. Isaac and St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Qatar Sunday School. It exists to help the Sunday school manage registration, groups, attendance, events, and communication.

The information in this application is information the Sunday school already keeps as part of running its classes. The application is a way to organise and access that information. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than running the Sunday school.

The application is used by children and by parents on behalf of their children. We take that seriously and describe below exactly what is held and who can see it.

St. Isaac and St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Qatar Sunday School is responsible for the information in this application.

For any question, correction, or deletion request, contact: Sundayschool@qorthodox.org, or use the “Messages” feature inside the application to write to the administrator directly.

For each registered student:

• Photograph of the student
• Name in Arabic and in English
• Date of birth
• Baptism name
• Father’s mobile number and mother’s mobile number
• Student’s own phone number (only if provided — optional)
• Language category (Arabic-speaking or English-speaking)
• Allergies and other notes (only if provided — optional)

For teachers: name and the groups they are assigned to.

Automatically, for the application to work: a notification token for the device, used to send notifications. Notifications are optional: if they are turned off, no token is stored and the application still works.

Also recorded during use: attendance records (present/absent per class), responses to surveys, and messages sent to the administrator.

• To register students and keep class records
• To assign students to the correct group by age
• To record attendance
• To send notifications about events, reminders, birthdays, and announcements
• To allow families to contact the administrator
• Allergies and notes are held so teachers can care for students safely

We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

• Parents/families see only their own children’s information.
• Teachers see the students in the group they have been given access to, in order to take attendance.
• Sunday school administrators can see all student records, in order to run the Sunday school.

Nobody outside the Sunday school has access. We do not sell, rent, or share this information with third parties.

The information is stored using Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which provides the database, file storage, sign-in, and notification services for this application.

• Database and photographs are stored on servers located in Europe.
• Notifications are delivered through Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Google acts as our service provider for storage and delivery. Google does not use this information for its own purposes.

Access is only possible with an identification code issued by the Sunday school administrator. The administrator can disable any code at any time, which immediately removes that person’s access.

There are no public accounts and no self sign-up. Only people the Sunday school has given a code to can use the application.

Student information is kept for as long as the student is enrolled in the Sunday school, so that records, groups, and attendance remain available from year to year.

If a family asks for their child’s information to be deleted, it is deleted.

A parent or guardian may ask at any time for their child’s information to be deleted, whether or not the child is still attending.

To do this, either:

• Use the Messages feature inside the application to write to the administrator, or
• Email Sundayschool@qorthodox.org

The administrator will delete the student’s record, including the photograph. Access codes associated with the family will be disabled.

This application is about children, and the information is provided by parents or guardians on their children’s behalf as part of enrolling in the Sunday school.

Children do not create accounts themselves. Codes are issued by the administrator to families.

Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information at any time using the contact details above.

Access is restricted by the code system described above and by security rules that limit what each person can see. Group registers are additionally protected by a password given only to that group’s teacher.

No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to those who need it for the Sunday school to function.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will be updated.
